I doubt this is Lone Rock's fault. It seems more likely to either be suicide or foul play.Wild. Yet another reason to avoid Lone Rock.
Is there any information about how deep the water is (currently) where the truck was found? No matter when the truck was first found, there will always be room to wonder why it wasn't found sooner. But I think the water just finally got low enough that it became visible for somebody seeing it from a boat (maybe?).Water was 22’ higher in Dec. ‘23. Be hard for the truck to accidentally get that deep in the water to not be seen until now.
Maybe if floored at 80mph down the beach into the water?
I would assume suicide. I’d just prefer not to find a body, especially when out with my kids. And up lake you can’t drive your truck into the water…I doubt this is Lone Rock's fault. It seems more likely to either be suicide or foul play.
Engine would make that final loud silence almost instantly when the intake went under water. Really sucks when it happens on a dirt bike.Is there any information about how deep the water is (currently) where the truck was found? There are some areas on Lone Rock beach that are pretty steep. So if the truck was driving or in neutral, maybe it could go quite a ways before coming to rest. Even if the truck was going fast when it hit the water, I don't think it would get very far in flat terrain. I assume the engine would stall pretty quickly once submerged.
You are a lot braver than me amigo….I would assume suicide. I’d just prefer not to find a body, especially when out with my kids. And up lake you can’t drive your truck into the water…
Did find a submerged tent complete with sleeping bag a couple years ago. I sent the kids back around the corner before I dove for it to confirm it was empty…
I saw these unusual tracks dug into a hillside at the west end of Lone Rock Beach with some sort of barrier at the base. I was wondering if this was the site of the extraction.![]()
