Headed down tomorrow for 10 days!! Our partners in the houseboat are captains this trip. I have no idea what part of the lake we are even considering for camping, but I'm pretty sure its not with the Zoombies and Croc's - no slot canyons for their hiking.

I'd recommend the back of Padre Canyon. It's very quite and peaceful this time of year (NOT!!!!!!!) Referring of course to the last Padre Canyon post that you replied to a few minutes ago.

If you do have any influence on your camp location, there are several good beaches in dungeon canyon and much quieter than Padre Bay this time of year. We stayed their a month ago and just went by again last week and the beaches are still nice and usable.

I'm wondering what Oak canyon is like this year. It has to be good with the water being down.
