Is this required for all boats or those that are registered in Utah? We are coming from Phoenix and paid for our truck and trailer. Now a boat?

The AIS sticker is from “STDOFTHESEA” website (after you pass the test with 100% score) and the boat pass can be purchased “online” or at the NPS check station entrance. A copy of the AIS form is to be displayed on the dash of the tow vehicle as somewhere on your boat. Sq

So they are now doing an actual decal for the AIS certification? So my boat will have the following decals:
1. Colorado Registration
2. Glen Canyon vessel pass
3. UT AIS decal
4. WY ANS/AIS decal
5. NE ANS/AIS decal (assuming a trip to Big Mac)

I'm going to need a longer boat.

Im in the same boat(pun intended) Ive resorted to putting them all in a ziplock back that stays on the boat. I get some grief every now and then but I have yet to have to put an AIS sticker on my boat from any of the states you mentioned. I did have an officer offer to put mine on which i declined successfully.

I primarily boat in Wyoming and have no no issues with one AIS sticker. However, being required to physically attach one to boat in Utah, Colorado, Montana, Idaho etc. starts getting a little ridiculous! I’ll buy the permit, but all those stickers are a bit much!

I think technically, it’s supposed to be attached because you could transfer it from one watercraft to another. I’m with you however, I’m going to take my chances!

I believe you are correct however and conveniently the AIS sticker for Utah is numbered which is associated with my boat registration..... which is how i was able to get out of having to stick it to my vessel in utah. I was however warned if i were to forget it I could be ticketed.
