Just a quick note to say thanks to the prior members who posted fishing reports and tips. I decided to try something new by fishing w a 1/8 oz jig head and a small shad color curly tail grub. I fished it w 4 feet of fluorocarbon leader behind a full plastic bubble. I liked the “match the hatch” idea others proposed because there was a lot of small shad swimming around. I also like the ability to cast it a country mile. We had a blast chasing slurps in the Padre Bay Area. We found them quite consistently at the back of Kane Creek Wash between 7:30-10AM. They didn’t seem to be up before that, which I thought was strange. We also caught small mouths on the same set up.
