Local residents of Page, Greenehaven and perhaps Big Water can launch this weekend at Wahweap main ramp according to AZ Game and Fish Dept. Utah Wildlife is not involved with this opening in AZ.

I will be calling today. I’ve sent multiple letters to him and get the same response...nothin!
I think Arizona would happily have it open. Utah asked to close it and now It’s Utah’s muscle program that is limiting it to locals with the sticker. Please do call your Governor and work on it. I’ve hammered my Governor and state reps to open Wahweap with or without the Utah inspectors.

Yes. Emailing them is easy.
Reading the form letter responses is less satisfying than writing the email.
My state Senator did actually reply that he agreed and would look into it. That was last week though so likely lip service.

All of the lakes in AZ are open and the governor of AZ encourages people to get outside and enjoy public lands.
It was the UT governor that closed Lake Powell. Then Kane County prohibited non residents (like me) from recreating on any public lands in Kane County Utah. Fortunately, that only lasted a week. The UT governor also wants people entering Utah to fill out a form by text message and submit it to their state so they can track your movements from your cell phone. The reason is for covid19 contact tracing. Utah highway patrol recently had check points set up to make sure motorists were complying. That program is now voluntary, but electrical traffic signs are still in place at Bigwater to get you to submit the form so the government of UT can monitor your movements. I think the reason UT closed Lake Powell is that they cannot monitor your movements there very well due to poor cell phone coverage. Considering what UT is doing to take away our rights, the boat ramp closure is a small thing in the bigger picture. In the meantime, I'll be glad when I can just get a haircut.

I have personally written the Utah Governor and legislators about opening the lake back up. I have also asked a friend of the governor to call him. In the end, unless there is a considerable voice, a few letters, emails or calls won't do any good. The governor has ignored my emails for over a month. I'm going to give it a little more time for the legislators to respond and then decide what to do, but it's clear the government wants to have utter control over this.

That is the biggest issue. I don't like the lake being closed, but it is of very little significance compared to what is happening in the bigger picture.

I have sent three emails to Herbert, got form letter back thanking me, I doubt he even gets them. After seeing the number of people at the golf courses I sent another one trying to explain that inspectors at muscle inspection stations don't get any closer than golfers. I asked that ramps be opened at Lake Powell.
The tracking is strictly voluntary as its a Constitutional issue That's why he backed off on it so quick. The cunard of it having too many false alerts to St George residents was a quick way out. Even AG Barr is now looking into some of the Constitutional issues that various Govs have posed with their overboard restrictions. Utah Gov closed it because (as he said) "I don't want folks driving through Utah bringing the virus with them when they go to Lk Powell" The mussel question only came up after he closed the lake.

My question is - What does staying over night have to do with the price of tea in China? It should make no difference in the transmission of any disease. You're already there with whom ever you came with. Obviously UT doesn't want boats going way INTO Utah and camping. In other words- STAY OUT IF UTAH. You can't get very far or stay too long up north if you have to be back at dark. "Mommy please, can I stay out a little longer? "
There are many peer reviewed medical publications touting the benefits if being outdoors instead of indoors and the transmission of communicable diseases.
