Weekly Low Water Update

January 14, 2022

Dear Partners:

In 2021, Lake Powell dropped to unprecedented low water levels and Bureau of Reclamation projections indicate it will continue to drop.

1. Bureau of Reclamation Adjusted Releases: On January 7, 2022 the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) announced they began monthly operational adjustments at Glen Canyon Dam on Jan. 1, taking initial steps to protect the reservoir’s target elevation of 3,525 feet. The BOR news release is available here: Newsroom | Bureau of Reclamation

2. Buoy Work in Padre Bay: National Park Service crews worked on relocating navigational buoys in Padre Bay to adjust to lowering water conditions.

3. Antelope Point Marina: has developed temporary pedestrian access to the marina due to low water conditions. Visitors are being transported by cart on temporary pathways between the Valet Ramp and the marina.
