Got to the lake ABOUT one on Tuesday and camped in knowells water temp was 53 caught a few in the back of ceaderS. The next morning we headed to goodhope bay fished the bay by the bathroom with no luck water temp was 53 and clear as I have ever seen. When we went to four mile the water had a little color to it and it was on. Large mouth fishing was great. Spent the rest of the trip up north the stained water is down to about blue notch temp got up to 55 Thursday. One last thing we didn't get any fish in the clear water it makes a big difference. Hope this helps.

It is so weird how the best looking water is the least productive in Powell! I have found that as long as you can see your propeller, maybe, 18" of visibility, the fish will still bite pretty well. When it gets so dirty you cannot see your propeller, THEN it is too dirty! I have certainly caught fish in the clear water, but I have never had a super hot bite like you get in the stained water.

So the water was not off color near Red Canyon?
