Fished from Forgotten to Ticaboo Friday noon through Sunday noon. Best fishing was Friday and seemed to tail off through Sunday. Picked up about 18 walleyes. Many smallmouth, some Crappie and Largemouth. Also the occasional skinny striper. Water turned greener and dirtier as you worked up lake but found good fishing all the way to Ticaboo. Two female walleyes still with eggs. Best areas were closer to main channel verses farther into canyons. Oddly best fishing was between the hours of 10am and 2pm. Hope to get back in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Chris we have been waiting for a GHB report before heading out for walleye tagging next week. I think warming water makes fishing better midday. That is great information for us as we put 7 boats on the water next Wednesday and Thursday. Any special walleye baits or techniques that worked well would be much appreciated.

Wayne,
Heading down later today to fish Friday thru Monday plan to target walleye and more up-lake from BF. Will send you an update on what we find.

Good timing. Put a few walleye out there with my name on them so I can get a head start. Share that info with me and Mike and we will see who finds your fish first. :)

Please tag some in the San Juan, We will be there next Saturday through Friday.

Thanks

Chris, can you give us some details on baits for the eyes?
We mostly use simple jigs (1/8 - 1/4 oz) with single tail grub. Did the best with chartreuse and dark green. Usually also tip with part of night crawler. We are fishing smaller rocky areas so trolling is not very efficient but I would guess would work as well. Good luck.

Hi Wayne, No nothing special. Just standard jigs (single tail chartreuse, dark green, dark orange). As you always suggest we tip with part of night crawler. Hope you tag a bunch. We plan to be back around the 6th of May.
