More water leaving the Colorado Basin

WOW. That's impressive. So, how much water are they taking annually from the Colorado River drainage and Lake Powell? Sq
It looks like it is on the eastern side of the continental divide, so no water is taken from the Colorado River watershed.

"The water comes from the Western Slope, originating in the Colorado River. Because those on the Eastern Slope will be taking the water, Northern Water has invested nearly $90 million in the Colorado River and the Western Slope's water resources to help offset their impact."

While of course I do remain a bit skeptical about any such claims perhaps the impact won't be as much as it could be simply because if the water isn't there then they won't be able to take it without having some pretty senior rights.

Without looking into it too deeply... Almost all areas of the west have water issues from minerals of various kinds.

Colorado DEQ has determined Chimney Hollow water is unsafe for consumption because of excessive uranium contamination. This was known a while ago but never stopped dam construction.
Presently correct, it won't deliver any water until further monitoring occurs but they expect that to change and decrease over time. Hopefully that happens quick, what a shame to build all that and not be able to use it.
