I had made two trip's and it had just kept getting better, even in the wind ''March wind's'' each trip a week apart, the water had warmed up a few degree's, and it was a big difference in the bite. I had fished all day from 10:00 til 4:00 for a limit of ten Crappie. My friend's showed up at 5:00 PM, and there boy's started fishing from the bank. They were throwing crank's and jig's. It was not fast for them, but productive enough to be fun. The bite picked up in the boat allso, and Jerry and Sue Jone's caught there limit by 7:00 and we hunted fire wood, for the rest of the day. ''SHOULD HAVE BEEN FISHING"

Second trip we went fishing, and it was windy, but decent fishing when your catching 1.6 to 2.3 lb Crappie's. We trolled a jig and a minnow really slow and they were scatterd all over and not fast but fun fishing. Big Crappie's are all way's fun.

But just when the fishing was going to really take off, they shut us off, It would have been 70 to 100 fish day's, if not for the shutting down of the lake. But I have kept my composure and not let this over whelm me. It is what it is, a crisis for sure. I just hope it slow's down, and let's us get back to a some what normal life, with back to fishing.

When they do open Powell up, be sure to not get in to big of hurry, and forget your favorite pole and reel. I know I will do something silly for sure, Or it would'nt be me.
You all have a good one, I think were going to catch part of the spawn yet 😁

We better not forget anything. I’ve had the boat packed and ready to go for weeks now.

My brothers and I have been doing a trip to Powell for 10 days around April 15th for many years and it is something we always look forward to especially since we live far apart and this is really the only time during the year we get to spend time with each other. With the shutdown we decided we would just push it back to May 2nd and got our reservation at the Bullfrog family unit set. Now it is looking like that will not happen either. Really bummed as this year could be the best fishing ever. Maybe a fall brothers trip this year....

:giggle:Forgeting stuff is just part of the game anymore. Last trip my fishing buddy forgot his clothes bag. Lucky we were only 15 miles on our way when he remembered. I cant complain, cause Im the one who forgot his saddle and bridle once about the same distance from home. Im getting so I could hide my own easter eggs 👴

It’s fun to meet new pepole every day, even if they do seem kind of familiar.
the ones who throw me off are the ones who obviously know me so we sit and chat for a few minutes, ask how their family’s are, etc.
and I leave still wondering “WHO THE HECK WAS THAT”
