If you guys were to choose one or the other to go fishing where would you go. With the circumstances of kayaks we wont be able to travel very far from camp. Just curious if those were your only options with fishing in mind which place would you choose.

I would never try canoeing or kayaking Lone Rock between Memorial Day - Labor Day unless VERY early in the morning. Far too many boats, particularly wake boats.

Nothing against wake surfing, a lot of folks love it and that’s great. But kayaking or canoeing through 3 foot waves might be a challenge...then again that could be part of the ‘fun’ :)

Yeah for sure. We are going end of April hopefully beating some of the crowd haha

Stanton has lots of protected bays and you should not have to venture very far from shore/areas that you can beach a boat (its not a cliffy area). LP can go from placid to terrifying pretty quickly, but if you watch the weather forecast (you actually have a signal near Stanton), you should be aware if and when the wind is going to come up.

Cool thanks brotha, very good info to know

And at Stanton you could throw the kayaks in your vehicle and portage them to the Executive Service launch ramp (with parking) and eliminate about 4+ miles to access Bullfrog Bay. Sq
Is there a gps coordinate for the launch ramp youre talking about? And is the fishing decent up north of Bullfrog?

The Executive Services ramp is 37*31'07.83"N 110*44'40.13"W The Stanton area I use for camping is 37*29'23.28"N 110*41'59.73" W The North side of Stanton is more protected from the storms and "W". Hope this helps. I don't usually have very good luck fishing, but I like the area North of Bullfrog just because it isn't nearly as crowded as down South. Don't get me wrong, I catch fish, just not the numbers some do. Sq
