Lone Rock Beach question

Over the past couple years it seems like Lone Rock Beach has turned into “party central”. No one was collecting fees at the booth, no one was patrolling it, quiet hours were not being observed, truck and motorcycles and four wheelers driving anywhere they want, including right through your campsite. Has anybody been there recently? Is it about the same or is there at least a fee being charged to go down to the beach? It really was a free-for-all, both literally and figuratively and completely out of control.

I spent the Memorial Day Weekend at Lone Rock Beach and it seemed relatively tame from previous years. There were no fireworks and the crowd was a lot thinner than usual. I can't tell you much about the nightlife on the shore because I camp in my RV in the designated area at the top of the hill. There were a few side by sides climbing the hills after dark but not real late. Overall, it was a much quieter experience than usual. When i drove down to the beach with my kayak on my jeep there weren't any problems except the inevitable stuck RV's. I saw several strangers helping people get unstuck and even had some kind folks help me get my kayak off(and later back on) my jeep. I didn't see anyone checking for payment tickets but the booth was womanned during normal business hours.

Thinking of staying at Lone Rock over the 4th of July weekend and we're needing information about camping, boat parking we are just bringing our boat and a few tents can you park and camp on the beach with tents and pickup with supplies.
Water depths by the beach we have a 240 Sundancer is the water level 3'-4' for beaching the boat safely.

I wanted to bump this message to see if there’s been any recent people stay at Lone rock Beach, and what their opinion is, thanks!

I would say if you’re looking for serenity, as your username might suggest, you won’t find it at Lone Rock Beach. We recently beached nearby just after Father’s Day. It was busy. Reminded me of great spring breaks during my teens & twenties.

If you get there early enough there should be places to camp. I’ve seen houseboats beached there. Usually I see sport cruisers and speedboats anchored away from the beach a few yards. It can be shallow over there. There are a few good beaches nearby as well.

If you want peace and quiet, you’ll have to trek further. Normally we go out beyond West Canyon before looking for beaches. Just depends what you want to get from your trip.

Safe travels!
