Smallmouth are on beds. Fishing is heating up now, water temps are in the high 60s to low 70s. Fishing deep and slow with craw and chartreuse patterns. Ned and grubs. Fishing is better later in the day.

The Walleye are deep. This one was at 35', my friend caught one at 50+. Ned rig.
He also caught a 7lb cat on a crawler harness.

Just caught a nice smallmouth while typing this.

We caught many Cats on this trip. I cleaned 2 and both had small mussels in there cut.

A lot of vegetation under water now. It's going be a great fishing year.

6' minimum in the cut this morning.

After we figured out the deep and slow approach the most successful rig was the Finesse TRD green pumpkin goby on a 3/8 oz football jig head. Dead sticking worked well.

Forget too mention that all LM were released and preferred the Gary Yamamoto 5" super grub chartreuse blk flk. Also the TRD stuff is sensitive to heat, learned the hard way on that one.

Yes or in my soft bait bag with the flap left open. That was in high 80 temps.
