Defiance House Lodge- closes for the season Monday October 27
Offshore Marina Store/grill- open at 8AM
Mechanic Shop- closed Mon/Tues/Wed
Bullfrog Store and Shop- open normal hours. Mechanic may or may not be available, but there’s a helpful lady who can get parts for you.
Main ramp (the one that doesn’t reach the water) has no floating dock.
Executive Ramp has a small floating dock. It gets pretty busy at times, despite few people on the lake.
People are parking past the “No Parking till October 31” hoping the govt shutdown means nobody cares. I didn’t risk it.
Shenanigans: an NPS patrol boat took up much of the dock Wednesday morning, as a worker and Ranger worked to retrieve it. Apparently, its bilge pump drained the battery the past weeks of the government shutdown while it was unattended, and it kind of sank. Then a tire on the trailer was flat. Meanwhile, a houseboat was being pulled out, blocking the rest of the ramp. Next day, someone got their boat crossways on their trailer while attempting launch or retrieve, I don’t know. No judgement, they were handling it calmly when I left.
Lake was beautiful and always entertaining.
