I tried hunting around for this answer on the forum, but couldn't find it ... Can anyone tell me if LP is open for launching and retrieving your boat and for fishing? I finally have some time off work and typically like to tow a boat up to LP to fish when we can... Is the lake open? We would be coming up from Phx and launching on the south side of the lake. Any details are appreciated on what to expect and how to comply. Thank you.

There is a sign at Lone Rock Beach saying the camping area is closed. But I don't see any enforcement of the closure.

There is no closure sign at Wahweap Main ramp. Boats are launching there and at the executive ramp over at Antelope Point. I think it is a wise move by NPS to just walkaway until the Federal Government opens up again.

I could state my feelings about the shutdown but will save that for a later day - hopefully not too much longer...

Come and enjoy boating and fishing at Lake Powell. WWords user get a free pass. Just drive through the closed gates gates and launch and have fun.

The state has never been paid back the $ 5 million from last time. The longer the government preaches the closure of the National Parks, the more hurt to rural communities. International Travel companies and visitors are holding back unknowing the outcome.

Long-time lurker, first time poster. Great resource here folks!

Planning a houseboat trip in February...has the shutdown affected availability/status of floating restrooms/dump stations?

Last January we were able to use the Wahweap pump-out by contacting NPS by phone. If the shutdown is still not resolved next month, should we assume Wahweap pumpout won’t be an option?

If I recall correctly the floating restrooms (such as Padre Bay and Castle Rock) have manual houseboat pump-outs, just curious if they remain open and functional during the shutdown, should Wahweap be closed.

Thanks in advance

"I will check with Aramark and Antelope Point to see if they know the answer to your question."
Answer:

Aramark has responded that Dangling Rope will open on March 1st and conduct business as usual.

Floating restrooms and pumpouts are still functioning now and will be open in February.

Aramark is still doing business and they are in charge of pumpouts and Dangling Rope.
