What happens at Lake Powell is still being determined and options change often. Here is what I know for sure:
Wahweap Ramp will be open for day use only by local boaters on Friday- Saturday and Sunday. (May 1-3). This will be the same as last week.

The discussions of future plans for opening the lake are still in progess but the details are not yet available. There will be more options in the coming weeks with uplake ramps opening. Try to be patient for one more week and more options will be available. That's all I have!

Please wait one more week and continue to walk the shoreline in your county of residence. This too shall pass!

I like your quote Wayne. This to shall pass is a quote my great grandmother always used. Hopefully it passes sooner rather than later

Hi Wayne, I have a prepaid houseboat rental through Aramark on May 9th - May 15th. We scheduled a pre-board for the night of May 8th. I really need to know this weekend or Monday at the latest if this is going to work, since I have two people traveling from out of state and a lot of preparations for the trip. I appreciate everything that you're trying to do to open the lake, but houseboat rentals without being able to launch our boats/tow them doesn't have any value to fishermen as you know. Thanks!

It's the "county of residence" that is problematic, Wayne. You enjoy our happy place for us--looks like you are!

I am boarding on the 12th and feel your frustration but unless you have some inside information or go to person in the NPS you likely will not know anything till Thursday May 7th. Clearly no one at the National Park Disservise cares about us peons. Who cares that we have thousands of dollars tied up in the trips and people coming from all over. I am so friggin mad I could spit. Good luck to you. this crap has already driven off some avid LP folks. I am in a stay at home state and asked 2 sheriffs if I can get in trouble traveling to Page. One said yes, the other said no. Perfect answers. I can just about guarantee ramps will be open when rentals open

Thanks Wayne for all you do and for the update. We all understand the position your in but there are a lot frustrated and angry Lake Powell enthusiasts that had or have plans to go to the lake. We pay Aramark a lot of money to use our houseboat throughout the year and I can’t get anyone to answer their phones. It’s like renting a house that you can’t live in. People have money tied up in rentals and are told the lake might open up. Might is no longer good enough. I have a struggling business because the government said we can’t be open. Yes they provided something, but our losses exceed what we were given. Enough is enough. It’s time they start answering to the people with real answers.
