Just got back from 3 days of fishing. The weather was awesome but the fishing was a bit slow. We mainly fished the shoreline for bass. The bass caught were smaller than what I had caught even a month ago. Largest small mouth was 2lb 4oz. The bite was very subtle. We tried whopper ploppers and caught a few. Crank baits caught a few but the best lure was a 3" Z-man PB&J ned rig. Even fish like PB&J. Many of the bites were very subtle. We would drop down in 20' to 30' and touch the bottom. When the fish took the lure it felt like you were dragging it across the rock and you had to set the hook. It was hard to tell when they had it. Casting towards the shore with a very slow retrieval had similar results. We tried longer ned rigs of various combinations but the best was definitely a white jig head with a 3" PB&J.
We didn't find many fish in the canyons. We mainly fished along the main channel. One section would have many willing bass while the next would be dead. Similar structure did not produce the same results. It was hit and miss. We did not see a single boil. Only caught a few stripers however we did manage to catch a very nice 6lb healthy striper. He was the only striper we caught in that area.
We managed to boat about 80 fish per day with 4 fisherman. Pretty slow for Lake Powell standards.
If we had success in an area we would go try it again ether later the same day or the next day. It never did produce the same as the first time.

Did you use Time Machine to fish in future

Great report!
