Personally I would not call and ask any questions, I work with carriers for a living. They are usually large bureaucracies and it seems that much of the time one hand doesn't know what the other one is doing. I'd prefer to assume I'm going to sail through until I didn't. In my way of looking at things it would be kinda like calling up the IRS, giving my name and SS number and asking if they think I'll be audited this year? Nope, not gonna do it, wouldn't be prudent.

Would have been nice to know 6 months ago... Now it's scramble time to get it done.
I get it, I'm not the expert but I've owned a few houseboats. My advice is to apply with a few carriers, look around. The most flexible carrier I've found is American National and my agent is Karl Norgen in St. George. He reps for them, owns his brokerage and is an avid Powell boater, used to live in Page. You might get a few no's but you just need one yes. Best of luck!
