Been to Lake Powell 7 times. Live in Florida and first trip in 1980 got me hooked. This year my oldest son and his family are joining us. He has been here once in 1999. It'll be first for his wife and 4 kids. Traveling by Fifth Wheel this time because of Corona Virus. But now not sure if it's going to be open or not. Hopefully it will be. Crossing my fingers.

That is funny, I couldn’t wait for the lake to open so I am going to Florida. Have a great trip.

that's a nice looking Nordic, too bad dangling rope is a ghost town.
Thanks! Yep, DR store was closed. Docks completely empty...just us.

Spoke with a couple of workers who drove down from above to greet us (at a distance) and they said they tried opening the store this weekend but no business. They decided to keep it closed this weekend and will see what happens next week. Didn’t visit the gas dock but they said a guy was there to provide fuel. Also could purchase ice and/or water if needed.

That is a bad looking boat, which motor?
Thanks Kev, it’s an old 1993 Nordic Scandia. Nothing special, 454 Mercruiser Bravo 1 (No fuel injection). Got my local boater tag, topped with 54 gallons of fuel, grabbed a few neighbors and hit the water Sunday.

I should’ve grabbed a shot of Rainbow Bridge dock. It was eerie being only one of 2 boats at the dock. Later a couple of PWCs arrived, a group of 3 young men who had come from their houseboat slipped at Wahweap marina. One of the best things?...no tour boats...the channel wasn’t all chopped and thrashed like usual.

At 5 pm Sunday, Wahweap ramp was busy but organized. Everyone moving efficiently, doing the clean, drain, dry process on the right ramp and no lines or delays.

We were at Rainbow Saturday afternoon. We had the place all to ourselves and hung out there for 2-3 hours. I've never hiked back behind the arch so we took the trail around the back and found the big bronze Nasja Begay and Jim Mike plaques on the wall. Pretty cool stuff. We only saw a handful of boats up-lake on Saturday. Thought about going into DR but figured it would be a ghost town.

I assume the first picture is Clear Creek CID in Escalante?

First pic is the back of Anasazi Canyon, hoping the water comes up enough to hike the stream that’s currently a small waterfall.

And yep, DR was indeed deserted...Utah governor...let’s open up so DR employees can have some company!
