Happy Thanksgiving, wordlings...:)

RBB,
though we’ve never met, i’ve enjoyed your dry humor
& thought provoking comments & questions.
and coincidentally, we have family here in utah, from socal near you,
visiting us this week.
and to boot, a comforter was brought in that made me think
of you.
your colorful personality & this item just seem to go together.
and part way thru writing this, i realized (since i’m a tad older than you), it
isn’t quite exactly what i thought, even w/my reading specs on.
but close’nuff, & sending.
appreciate your commentary & well wishes to all.
fishing was great yesterday at sand hollow, & i sure bet powell fishing even
better, and bigfish1 i believe will testify to that out of bullfrog.

Greeting to al the Wayne words group.

Best I can add to this is a little note pinned to the back of My grandmothers kitchen cabinet door.. ( I suppose just as a reminder)

"The secret to a happy life is 3 things."
"Something to do "
Someone to love "
And something to look forward to "

So my something to do is to make sure my boat is ready to go next spring

I am a lucky man and I love my Karen and Powell ..

Looking forward to getting across the cut from Bullfrog to Halls ..Only take a 150ft rise?? haha.

Happy Thanksgiving all We have so much to be thankful for May the circle be unbroken.

Going to dig out some more of Dads old slides to add to the Old Powell Pix thread. Dmc

Thank you and to you also!

I am blessed with finally having all the big garden chores finally wrapped up (but yes of course there are always a million smaller ones out there so I'm never short of things to do when the weather cooperates). And now the weather has turned to cold enough and at times rainy or snowy so I have no inclination to go outside today and putter around. I have beans to shell and sort still and that will be going on for some time and I also have a book to finish and other indoors type projects but best of all, I have nothing planned for the entire day and that is as much of a holiday as I can wish for. :)

We had our TG dinner this past Sunday when we could get it cooked and enjoyed and it was all wonderful - today I'll be having a brunch to finish the leftovers.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I’ve always wanted to do Thanksgiving beached out on the lake, maybe someday. My young people are both in very demanding academic programs and either workloads or weather thwarts that effort. I saw a small gap of an opportunity this year and brought it up to the family and they all just looked at me like I had lobsters crawling out if my ears.

So I just ran up for a few days to winterize the boats and I came home last night. That was kind of a mistake because the weather was so perfect up there and there were a few folks out enjoying it, more than I expected. It’s the kind of situation we get a lot of in the SW Deserts, where the air is cool but the radiant energy of the sun keeps you warm. To me it’s heaven as long as there is no wind but once the sun sets you have to grab a jacket and a hat. (Perfect) To be luxuriously warmed by the sun without a jacket while looking at Navajo Mountain covered in snow is a real mind bender to me, I never get tired of it.

On my drive back to Flagstaff I saw a lot of boats in tow going that way (lucky) and I assumed they were all headed to the lake. On my way back I could also see the snow all over The Peaks outside of Flag from last weeks 4 foot dump and marveled at how the ski resort is open and yet Powell weather is just so perfect right now. (You can see the Vermillion Cliffs from the lift) We truly are blessed and do live in such an amazing corner of the world. “Powell, like no place in earth”

I just checked my calendar and this is the 12th Thanksgiving in a row we have spent on the lake. We have had our share of iffy or down right lousy weather but overall I would say 80% of the years have been delightful. This year may win the prize for best overall calm conditions and nice temperatures. If only the fishing had been better this year. Here we are this year in Gunsite.PXL_20251127_203032157.jpg
