Halls Crossing Boat Ramp??

I plan on launching my boat at Halls Crossing in about 8 days. Even though it looks like it shouldn't be any issue using Halls Crossing it would be nice to hear from someone that has launched there lately.

Are there any issues with the launch ramp or boat docks at Halls Crossing?

Are there any construction delays on highway 276 and highway 95 between Halls Crossing and Blanding?

We boated over to check it out yesterday. We wouldn’t launch from Halls at this level, pretty dicey. The portion of the ramp that is under water is covered with dirt and rock(think landscaping size river rock. If you do launch, be sure to follow the curve and hug that big rock formation at the bottom of the ramp. As much as you feel you want to steer clear of the rock that will be on your port, the ramp curves that way. Straight out is very rough terrain

Did you notice if anyone had launched a boat there recently?

I'm launching a bass boat so don't need as good of a ramp as most. I also won't be loading my boat back on the trailer until May 17th. We might have another foot of water in the lake by then. I'm ok with "dicey" but don't want to waste my time driving to Halls, only to find out I can't launch there.

I have a family unit at Halls and they have said nothing about canceling the family unit

We were launching at Halls April 9th thru 11th. I have a 18’ fish and ski. No issues for us launching and loading daily. There were other boaters launching daily. It is getting shallow though. Powell water on 11th was 3558.69 and todays post in shows 3558.18.

I left Halls F dock yesterday, we watched many boats launch from Halls ramp... I didn't use Halls as Bullfrog is shorter drive for me.

we launched the week before easter. do not try to launch in line with dock there is no ramp there, look first. the ramp curves around the shore line. it was usable but there is alot of rocks and a mud hump across the ramp. not a problem go fishing!

We plan to launch from Halls on May 2nd and will be keeping an eye on this thread. Will update if we launch at Halls.

Thank you for all the replies. I'll plan on launching at Halls in about a week as planned. If anyone else has recent experiences, I would still like to hear them.

I launched last week just fine, plenty of ramp left. A small houseboat launched before me, he was just fine. There are some small rocks and sand on the ramp under water but it's not a big deal.

Cotton wood wash bridge has some construction but very little lost travel time. Nothing else from blanding to halls. Lots of cows from clay hill to halls tho

I saw several boats launch this last Thursday , I didn’t take the time to go closer, just checked it out as we went by from running south to fish. Sorry not more details but boats were launching and retrieving. I just made a note to check it out since I had seen questions .

NPS told me a few years back that the "NPS Min Safe" is deep enough to launch a houseboat (not sure on the size?) without falling off that cliff at the end. Still 1.9' above that point as listed here: http://lakepowell.water-data.com/

Hope we get some inflow and it stays open for you to pull out. We were down on the SJ, day 2 of a 10 day trip when we heard NPS broadcast that the Halls ramp would close in 2 days due to dropping water. THAT was fun!

Ended up finishing our trip and then driving the truck and trailer around to Bullfrog. Not a great ride with an empty trailer

That's not encouraging to hear @PowellBride (hey from Arvada too!) Our crew is booked at Halls in the trailers, so hopefully we see a shift. We still have 11 days before our trip; plenty of time, right? ha

Please let us know if ramp does close!! We have Halls Crossing trailer rented starting this Sat the 10th I called Aramark and they had not heard anything about ramp closing yet.

If you scroll toward the bottom it has a grid showing the status of all launch ramps. At the moment Halls is 1.85 feet above NPS “minimum safe launching” and 3.85 above absolute minimum
