We just got back late last night from another amazing adventure to Powell. We went south to Escalante the first night and found a little cove on the left side with ample shade and hot fishing. We pulled in every species except bluegill. The green sunfish were bigger than I have ever seen. It was a blast with fish on almost every cast. We then ran to Rainbow Bridge and found fish willing along the way. The next morning we found our way to true Lake Powell magic in the San Juan arm. We caught fish on every cast. If a fish got off we would just open the bail on the reel and let the lure sink a few seconds and catch the next one. We found stripers at the mouth of the canyon on the wall in the afternoon shade willing to hit a chunk of anchovy. We stayed there for 2 days and had a blast. Then to change it up we went to Annies canyon for the last day. Once again we found every species willing to hit a drop shot or ned rig. We found small stripers at the bend with the white chair abandoned on the beach in the hundreds. My boy was still a bluegill short of a grand slam and caught several in the canyon on the last day. What a great lake!!!
