Governor's Letter to the Park Service

How any one state governor can close a NATIONAL Park or Recreation area is beyond me. The governor in his letter (and I've read it several times) is trying to protect Utah lakes and water ways and Inspection personnel at Powell. OK fine then don't let Utah registered boats on the water at this time.
I'm from Colorado and the inspection performed when leaving Lake Powell is worthless in Colorado. The only value it has is the date that appears on the slip and only if your trying to launch in Colorado after 30 days have passed from the date of issuance. Also if your a Colorado resident and have been to Lake Powell and truly care about the health of Colorado waters you would have your vessel decontaminated no matter how long it's been removed from the water. The process is free and takes, in most cases, less than an hour.

Here we go again, "PUBLIC LANDS" belong to the public and access to those lands should not be restricted. I think our government has gotten far too large for its britches and I don't mean just Federal(we're seeing plenty of tyrrany on a local level as well). I don't mind paying for services available(pumpouts, etc), but if I don't use those services I shouldn't be paying for them. If they don't want personnel to be in "danger", they should pull them out and put up signs that say "Enter at your own risk, no services(including emergency services) available".
