Genius Aramark.

No engines to worry about, no generator issues, close to spare parts...
We have done two trips this year where the houseboat didn’t leave the slip.

While that is not my first choice of how to spend a week at the lake, there are advantages - power 24/7 without the generator and not worrying about how secure the mooring is regardless of wind are the top two.

I think there is a market for this. Especially for those that have a smaller group or are unable to anchor themselves.

I’d compare this with the Family Units with being on the water. Sounds too cheap if it includes overnight lodging. Sq
You’re right. Our annual fees for the houseboat range from $2200-$3500.

That nightly fee is less than the bare minimum to use our boat. And that doesn’t count what I pay to pump it out if I don’t want to do that myself. Or cleaning.

That’s a great deal.

Yes, but would these renters be subject to the Moorage and Dockage agreements we all sign to keep a boat in a Marina? I'd be worried about all night partying, nuisance noise, people running up and down the docks, loose dogs, dog poop, etc.... Yes, I guess it's a great idea, but how is this going to work in the Wahweap "neighborhood?"

Do you seriously not have those problems already in Wahweap?

This week there is a Melanois (admittedly well trained) that hasn’t used a leash yet. Two nights where we had dinner and watched TV inside due to the loud music and voices.

Every trip we are on we have at least one night of loud music past 1000 pm.

There is no one in Bullfrog to enforce what you’re worried about. Maybe Wahweap is different.

I think this is a great way to repurpose a houseboat with a blown engine! I agree that it would be nice if they created a floating set of cabins or hotel. They should have a slip associated with each unit though too for the user to park their boat. It would be far more convenient than their on-shore facilities, especially as the water drops.

Yes, we do have those issues at Wahweap. I guess we'll see how this goes. When I stay in the slip, I bring my earplugs so I can get a good night's sleep. ;)
