When I run the generator does it run other stuff as well? Like charging the batts while the ac is on?I think the biggest variable is the size of the generator. Most of the houseboat generators run at a single speed, so while load will make some difference, in my experience, it isn't huge. I figure between 1 - 2 gallons/hour.
The way our houseboat is set up is we have an inverter that allows some (not all) of the AC consuming products on the boat to run without the generator. So some AC plugs are live. Our fridge and freezer run off it. And our toy tank fuel pump. We can't run the microwave, hot water heater, air conditioner, dish washer, washer dryer off the inverter. When I run the generator does it run other stuff as well?
