Floating marker

Wayne is always talking about marking resting schools with a floating marker to go back to and drop spoons on while out trolling. I have never done this but have often wondered if the floating marker will float away from the resting school and how effective this really is. I'd be interested to hear more feedback from those who have used this technique.

The marker has a light weight on it that spins the marker around until the weight hits the bottom. Then the flat marker will not unwind any further and stays in place over the fish school.

Your boat should have the ability to mark a way point via GPS on your sonar as well.

I have the dumbbell style, use them in the winter to mark one side of a school, works great

Sportsmans warehouse stocks them as well as most Tackle stores . They are very common and usually easy to find.
