It's cutting it close with the Bullfrog launch ramp access in the spring, which is good down to about 3529 or so. Based on the December 2025 24-Month Study put out by USBR, they show the lake dropping to as low as 3529 in March and April, which is likely accurate, since the winter is much more predictable than spring and summer, when the runoff is highly variable...

Current forecast:

Jan 1 - 3540
Feb 1 - 3535
Mar 1 - 3531
Apr 1 - 3529
May 1 - 3529

If the ramps are closed, it wouldn’t hurt to negotiate on a rental runabout or pontoon. They might be willing to cut a nice deal given the circumstances AND you’ve already committed the bucks for a HB.

April is a great time of year as far as boat traffic. It’ll still be cool but warming. Keep an eye on the Wind forecast, April’s notorious for some gusty days…but, it can also be heavenly and super calm. Should be a wonderful time for all, enjoy!

Last time it was down it went to 3519.5 and I was still launching at bullfrog north on the plates. Granted the access out of there past the houseboat slips was only four feet deep but doable in a fishing boat.

Also, POk3s is right! Someone will forge a path somewhere.

Yes a couple springs ago when we were at the low point on the graph, I can’t remember if I saw 7 or 9 feet going around the tires, under the boat. I’m assuming it’s going to be far less than that this year and really tough to even launch at the north ramp, I think. But I do think the spur ramp will remain a viable option with fisherman figuring out where to launch. We will see!
