Farley Canyon

Can anyone advise if it is possible at the current water level to launch a small boat at Farley Canyon? I can tailgate the boat in my 4WD Pick up, and could manage a drag of 50 yards or less.

Thanks

I was just there on Saturday. The old road appears to be in good shape. There was 9 feet of water out in front of the road/ramp. The water is low enough to drive past the "rock" that is tough to get by, and there is plenty of room to turn around after you get by the rock. We used to launch our 18.5 Lund foot frequently under these conditions, so you could get in easily with a boat in the back of your truck.
Some one had built a small fire pit right in the middle of the road that you will have to dispatch of to get to the water. We have had to deal with people camped on the road/ramp before. This is a popular camp sight for local people who don't have a boat.

Thanks for asking...I’ll be there doing the same Aug 9-14 ... say hello if you happen to be up there then...will be dragging small toy hauler in there with 12’ dingy....

SS,
I have been making my own striper surface lures for years and have been calling them "Striper Swiper"...not to worry, not copy righted, just a fun coincidence. It really works well. Gave one to Wayne but he lost it on a fish. Chuck

You were so generous that you gave me two. I still have one in my tackle box. I want you to autograph it on our next fishing trip.

Hi great forum! I am thinking of heading to Farley with my Kayak and fishing and camping for a few days (first weeks of Oct) coming from Colorado, keying on Stripers but will be happy to be on the water. Looking for any tips for a good trip thank you!

I agree with Lance Cue, Farley is it's own lake at this point. I'm considering taking our pedal boat, camper and kids to Farley in Mid-October. Let us know how the fishing is if you do go.
