Hey,

i was looking at a trip to the northern part of the lake and wanted to visit areas I haven't been too in over a decade. With the good runoff this year is it possible to drive to the water at Farley canyon? I'll be in a truck. i'd like to camp close to the water around there if at all possible but I'm fine with camping at Hite too. Any recent info would be awesome. No boat just a kayak, sup.

thanks,

I was there two weeks ago. The road goes right into the water once you go past "The Rock". We camped back to the east, near the end of the water.
It made for easy access for the canoe. Water level hasn't changed much since then. Good Luck.

Thanks for the help. I finally made it down the first weekend in Oct. Figured I'd give my report and put up a few pics for the next guy looking for info.
Water level was 3615. I decided to just play it safe with my kids and camped at Hite. Pretty much the only ones there for our long weekend in the campground closest to the water. Couldn't easily play in the water at the camp though do to all the bushes in the water mostly blocking access. You could still see an island of brush and mud in between Hite and North wash. Wasn't a straight shot across in the kayak. You'd have to detour around it to get across. There were a few people camping and launching boats around where the marina used to be. We did spend most of our time in Farley. You can drive right to the waters edge. 20191004_083024.pngIt just requires not being afraid of the small off camber road section right by the water. Probably harder mentally than it actually was driving it. 20191005_112415.png But it is straight down into the water if something goes wrong.20191004_115023.png That and there isn't a cell signal within an hours drive if it does. I did it once and saw a van do it as well. Road looked well used too. There was a camp set up in the very bottom of the cove that you could drive to as well. IMG_20191006_203458_317.jpg That one just didn't let you drive right to waters edge. The small amount of kayak fishing we did let us catch a few small mouthIMG_20191006_203458_203.jpg and
large mouth bassIMG_20191006_203458_315.jpg. All without venturing to far out off the cove. Felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The people at the hite outpost were really friendly and let us use their phone when needed. FYI The payphone around requires a calling card for long distance.20191004_182423.png
