A big thank you to the crew of houseboat “Sunny And Share” for living up to their name. They sent a young man out on a PWC as we were coming in Friday evening to let us know they were leaving in the morning. Sending them good karma in return!

So, we were able to move yesterday and score a great beach (same one we had this time last year) between Fifty Mile and Willow.

So far the boys have caught a good variety…Stripers, SMB, LMB, Walleye, Crappie, Sunfish, Catfish. Trolling XDs and working plastics like ned rigs and tubes. Escalante has been good, lots of stripers in the Rincon area this morning.

Will try to keep posting updates as we progress through the week.

Monday, Sept 23 other than Smallies, not much action in Escalante today.

On the other hand, main channel in the Rincon area produced willing striper schools. Also near floating restroom.

Four guys found success by dropping spoons on solo slurps and spooning over graphed schools. Estimated 50+ stripers averaging 2.5-3.0 lbs.

Tuesday, found stripers schooling at the mouth of Fifty Mile, caught a couple 3 lb’ers and several smaller juveniles.

Got a nice 3 lb 12 oz LMB in our honey hole 50’ from the houseboat.

A couple of guys ventured up the SJ for a quick fish and grabbed several for their cooler on the way back to Page.

Following up on @Markgee ’s intel we planned a trip to the SJ today. Four anglers and 2 hikers bound for Peek A Boo.

After dropping us off for the hike, the guys trolled Cha back end near Wilson and grabbed some awesome stripers. All four had several thanks to @Markgee (Pictures to follow)

As for the hike, a huge thanks to @Jan Hertzen for the very helpful pointers on how to attack Peek A Boo. Wayne’s write up under HIKES and lots of cairns along the way helped too.

Took us 5 hours round trip, mainly due to my fall on a loose rock and landing on my kidney. But this was a bucket list item so I rubbed some dirt on it and soldiered on. SO HAPPY to make this hike at 66 yrs old and bum knees. I have new-found respect for all who’ve successfully managed that hike, kicked my butt! Many thanks to all who had a hand in making it happen.

We’re heading back down lake early tomorrow so if you’re coming to the Escalante Thursday, check out our beach between 50 Mile and Willow. Oh yeah, that alcove on the left in Willow is a pretty cool place to check out! You can boat right up to it and hike up the rock pile.

Hey Rivergoer, it makes me real happy you accepted the challenge and made it safely (except for the kidney punch!). Now I know I'm not the only fool to creep out onto that arch. And I dig your Yahtzee houseboat; you've got it going!
