I am bringing family together for a reunion June 3-9th. We will be camping in the Stanton Creek area. Mostly with travel trailers, but a few tents as well. If anyone has recently stayed there and can report on current water conditions it would be appreciated. A few weeks ago, there were some reports of some really shallow areas that some were having issues with. I know the lake has come up 10-15' since then and some of that has changed, but more current info will be helpful. You see I will have my boat and 4 of my wave runners on the lake for the family and I just don't want to end up with a number of damaged impellers or PWC's. I will be down a few days earlier than the rest of the group to scout it out well prior to the rest coming, but if you've been recently please chime in with your thoughts.

THANKS!!!

Sorry to say that I haven't had any customers come in lately and say they were camping at Stanton. I wish I had something to report for ya. I do know that people were camping there thru the winter so one can assume that with the rising waters, Stanton will get to be more usable with every week that goes by.
Right now, the water is coming up about 4 inches a day but this week is supposed to be much warmer and I would not be surprised if we are back up to 6 inches a day rise by the end of the week. So, plant your campers wisely.
Have fun and be safe!

Thanks for the information Dave. We have been to Powell twice already this spring (once on the San Juan and once out of Antelope Point) and have been watching the water levels quite diligently. In fact my 14 year old tells me each day exactly how much Powell has risen. It's kinda fun. Anyhow, just hope we can find a good spot close to a good lake access point that will fit a large crew of about 5-6 travel trailers. Let's hope for the best!

Not sure I am to late, but we were down there a week and a half ago and drove down to Stanton to check out. There was a large group of trailers / campers on the point right as you head down and they had good access to the water. Basically if you take the right fork as you drive down in it will take you to that area.
