Bullfrog Ramp Parking

Is the main Bullfrog concrete ramp still open, or are people using the primitive ramp? I noticed the current water level is close to the minimum for launching at the main ramp…

I'm law abiding, they didn't shake me down because I was in compliance. They detained my neighbor for 45 minutes, they made a lot of notes. No one else was around, the marina is dead as is the lake, why now Philbo? why not when folks are around to talk to or to catch? Is the AC in their office or vehicle just too comfortable? All the helluons are gone, it's just us old men now, die hard Powellers enjoying the peace and quiet and beautiful weather. It's just odd, please don't misconstrue, not griping, asking open ended questions like why? Nice to see the Rangers out enjoying the weather too

Is the courtesy dock still up at the BF main ramp? I may launch at the north ramp and pick up my driver at the main ramp if it is. It would make for a much shorter walk for him; he's about to turn 80.
The shuttle was pretty actively running around the executive ramp last week. Launching there and having them drive him down to the ramp may be a better option. But I'd try calling the lodge or asking at the executive offices about it first.

People gripe about the rangers never being around and people gripe about the rangers being around and doing their jobs.....
That's the thing. You will never make everyone happy.

That said, what I would say this "complaint" (or maybe an observance) is more about what is enforced and what isn't. Personally I would rather see NPS have a presence out on the lake, enforcing some of the more common complaints on this board - people trashing the beaches, not following the 150' law, etc. than just walking the docks. It seems like both NPS and Aramark do easy, low impact things like this and taking down all the satellite dishes in the marina instead of things that will create a better user experience for us on the lake. At least that is my opinion here.

Since I am here, I'll offer a couple more observations. I'm all about using discretion for infractions, but I personally wouldn't offer it to the case of a houseboat on the lake without a parks pass. Also, I saw and spoke with NPS in Bullfrog last week doing this project, and with his personality, I would not want to have to deal with him on a regular basis on the lake. So, as said before in regard to enforcement, be careful what you wish for.
