Just returned from a very relaxing 5 day trip to Bullfrog. The weather was beautiful, no wind, but a little on the hot side. We stayed in the slip and just took a day cruise; definitely enjoyed shade and air conditioning at night. Upon our initial arrival Sunday evening, we were struck by how empty the parking lot was. The ramp was busy on Monday, but Monday-Wednesday there were only a handful of occupied boats within the slips. Probably a combination of kids back in school, $7 gas, and an unfounded fear that the Lake and beaches are inaccessible. It definitely felt more like November than the week leading up to Labor Day. Traffic definitely picked up today. Unfortunately when returning to the slip last night, we experienced a mechanical issue (shift cable) and arranged today to get our boat pulled for service - so our 40’ slip should be sitting empty for the next week if someone is looking for a place to lay up during a busy weekend at the Lake. Hopefully we can get the service done and boat back into the water before the ramp goes dry. If you are interested in slip info - send me a message for location details. Hopefully our misfortune will lead to a fellow WW’s good fortune. .

Blackjack, My wife and I are coming down to Bullfrog Sunday the 11th and Monday the 12th. We have a retrieval time at 8am on Tuesday the 13th. I hope your boat is repaired and back in the slip, but if not, it would sure help us out if your slip was available Monday night the 12th for a 25' Gulfstream, the "Hyfive". We are not newbies having been boating at Powell for 50+ years. Please let me know at [email protected] Thanks. T

T-dub—Unfortunately (for us) the slip is still open. I sent you a PM. When the boat got put on the trailer by Exec Services they neglected to raise the outdrives before pulling the boat out. Needless to say, our simple shift cable repair has now become more complicated. Now we are just hoping to get the fix completed so we can get the boat back in the slip before we lose the ramp. 😣 Fall is our favorite time on the Lake. . . Have a great time !

That's incredibly nice of you to offer your slip for others to use. Saw a post on Facebook where someone had posted a marker board on their slip, writing down the dates they were planning to be out, offering it for others to use, but please be out by this date. Seems like a lot of conflict could be avoided with good communication. I never minded of others around me parked their boat in my slip while I was out an about, but often bringing my boat back in by myself, it added to the anxiety if you first had to get someone to move out before you could park, especially on stormy days.

We too have had the experience of returning to find someone parked in our slip - which is both annoying and sometimes inconvenient - but generally we realize people don’t mean any harm. Since we are paying for the slip anyway - it feels good to have someone benefit from our (hopefully temporary) misfortune. We are hoping to get the boat back in this week while the water is at least 3529. Not sure whether our 31’ will be classified as a “larger vessel” or we will be good down to 3525 for launch purposes. If our repair does not get completed before the water level hits 3525 - that will be disastrous. 🤬😡🥴
