So my dad (Steve Moore) myself and two newbies to lake Powell came in Wednesday around noon. Got all our gear unloaded at the house boat and set out. Boy oh boy has the lake changed! Be vigilant no matter how long you have been making trips to the lake! We mostly wanted to save shad so Stripers were the main target. Went straight to Moki and graphed the walls and nothing! Went up into the canyon and again nothing. We trolled out and nothing... Then we got hammered with rain and wind... Second day we were going to work towards Lake canyon but the mouth of Halls bay we noticed a pontoon bait fishing. We talked to them and they were very successful there so we got our lines wet and fished anchovies. The other boat left as their live well was full... We caught enough to get the newbies extremely excited. The afternoon we went site seeing up lost Eden and relaxed. Came back to the mouth of Halls and boated 65 stripers, in less than 2 hours before the wind sent us packing. The rain today left us with not much but 3 stripers before deciding it was time to get back to real life.
