For anyone traveling up lake from Wahweap be careful with the hard left turn around mile marker thirty across from West Canyon. I've been on Powell more than a few times and already twice this trip I've misjudged how far the point extends onto the water. There is a warning buoy but it's so far off the point that I almost short cut it.

Yes, I saw this last Saturday. Follow the channel markers. The left turn around the point between Last Chance and Rock Creek is SHALLOW! Do not cut this corner! Take the long way around.

Last spring at 3525 it seemed more obvious. At today's 3530 lake level it's especially dangerous.

When I was at Last Chance Bay last week I noticed that towards there is a good size land mass right in the middle. I have never seen that before.

Yes, right now it's particularly important to follow the main channel, no shortcuts. Also, your best investment will be the Navionics phone app, which allows adjustment to the current lake level.
