Probably been discussed before but i was just wondering what everyone thinks is the best filet knife if you are cleaning larger fish.

This isnt for me, it would be a gift for someone else who does offshore fishing.

I would like to send as a thank you gift, so a little more expensive than your normal Rapala is probably what I would like. He already has a Bubba Blade.....

Can a fisherman really have to many Bubba blades? ? they come in many sizes.

For the last trip to Powell I bought a corded Rapala fillet knife. It was hands down the best investment I could have made.
The corded version was much more powerful than the old rechargeable I had. Wicked sharp too!
It reduced cleaning time by at LEAST 3x. It literally saved hours of time at the fillet table!

Gotcha. For the bigger offshore fillet jobs, I have the Forschner Cimeter with the granton edge. Great for getting the job done on tunas & jacks and other pelagics. Commercial grade, super tough, sharp and reliable.

Great knife, Forschner also makes a similar one of the same quality and a bit cheaper. Sani-Safe makes excellent filet knives as well, most all the commercial guys on the west coast use them. Don't confuse them with the Dexter's, they are not the same knife.
