We (2 guys in a bass boat) went to Rock Creek and fished from about 10am to 4:30pm. Caught 25 SMB, 4 LMB, and 2 BG.

We took the right fork into Rock Creek and fished the clear water about half way in. Water surface temp ranged from 59-61*F. Water visibility was 35 feet deep. All of our fish were caught within 20 feet of the surface and most within 10 feet deep. The bass were on fire from about 11am to 2pm, however, we caught fish all day. We targeted walleye and bass, used worms on our jigs, but never caught a walleye. We quit putting worms on our jigs the last half of the day and still caught fish just as well without them.

We used 8 pound test clear flourocarbon fishing line. The jigs were 3 inch single tail grubs on 1/8 ounce jig heads. We started out using chartreuse and had no luck. Switched to smoke with silver flake at midday and then swithched again to pumpkin in the late afternoon.

We also tried using a new scent that recently hit the market from Hookup Baits. About a month ago, they began selling the scents they use. I purchased their garlic scent and we gave it a try. We did not see any noticeable difference in our catch rate. By the end of the day, we were just using jigs without any scent or nightcrawlers attached and did just as well.

Good luck and good fishing everyone!
