Annual passes

Does anyone know when the Glen canyon boat pass and Utah AIS pass “click” over to 2026? And if the answer is 1/1/26……sorry for the stupid question.

Since a boat pass is needed to have a boat on the lake, it would be whenever you enter GLCA with the boat. If you're referring to a houseboat that's at the Marina, I would assume "technically" Jan 1st since it's already on the water.

Both websites right now only allow passes for 2025. I was trying to “time” getting a 2026 pass with my next trip down to bullfrog. I had heard that the Utah sheriffs were walking Halls crossing marina and issuing citations for lack of the Utah AIS sticker.

I was trying to avoid my houseboat at bullfrog not having the stickers on until sometime in spring.

Last summer, when I was going out through decon , there was an Utah Sheriff who’s sole purpose/ work was issuing citations for not having a AIS sticker.

In years past, I remember the actual NPS passes not being available until late Q1.

And in 4-5 annual trips since well before those AIS stickers were required, I’ve never seen (or heard until now) of any enforcement of the requirement.

And every year is different, but NPS has only enforced the sticker requirement on houseboats later in the season. Very few boats are used until late spring. I can’t imagine them fining someone in January for joy having a houseboat Glen Canyon pass.

Just another hoax for $$$. These mussels will make their way eventually no matter. But in the meantime they take our money...
