Just got back from a short fishing trip. On Monday we fished from Warm Springs north to the mouth of Good Hope. In some areas we found plenty of willing bass and other areas had none. Tuesday we headed south and started fishing just north of slick rock canyon. The first place we stopped had plenty of willing SMB. We continued south and just like the north, some sections were great and some sections were duds. We fished the boulders on the north/west side of Rincon with no success so we headed back north. We managed to catch quite a few nice SMB. Half a dozen in the 3 to 4 lb range. We caught a few stripers while fishing for bass. With the exception of maybe two, they were razor backs. Did not see any boils either day. Fished mainly along the main channel. Areas that had boulders or a shelf about 20' down seemed to hold the fish. Slick rock walls did not.
I used a white whopper plopper and when they quit hitting that went to a watermelon ned rig. My fishing partner used a crank bait most of the time and had similar success.
