Left bullfrog headed north to 2 mile. We went straight through, no detours. We decided we were only striper fishing this trip. Weather and wind were perfect for the whole trip.
We set up camp in 2 mile and started fishing around 2 pm. I like to troll, spoon if I get a chance and fish the boils if that’s possible.
We didn’t get out of camp 100 yards and doubled. All the fish this trip were 12 to 24 inches ( estimated) I did not weigh or measure any of them, all were in good shape.
Fish and bait balls everywhere. Only saw one short boil Friday afternoon. We filled 4 gallon ziplock bags and quit for the night. Saturday was a repeat of Friday. Fishing was phenomenal.
We ran into little Salt wash above the horn on Saturday and had a good visit. He was camping in the primitive campground with his wife. I think he ran all the way up just to visit,That was nice if he did. He was strictly bass and crappie fishing. Good to see him and say howdy. I don’t know how he did.
Sunday we were the only boat above 2 mile all day. We started out from camp and doubled twice within 300 yards of camp, hit a boil while doubled and soon had 4 fish on at once. If you’ve ever seen me in action you’ll understand the next statement. The Bejing China Fire Department texted me and wants Joe and I to come over and give them a demo😂
Best lures for us were rapala glass shad rap in purple. Trolled 4 to 4.5 mph.
Sunday there were boils all over the lake. Most were short, but we managed to get into 3 and catch fish. One boil in the mouth of 4 mile lasted 10 or 15 minutes. It’s just going to get better for a while. Water temps 66 to 70
Tight lines

Well we were close and on the same schedule this weekend, Missed you as I was just outside the horn. Literally did not have to troll as I spot locked as the graph stacked up from top to bottom after a trolling hook up. Those fish would leave maybe for 15 minutes to give a rest and they would return. Makes it easy for the boat operator !!! :ROFLMAO: Size was like you said and healthy normally the ones I prefer to fillet but I am still stocked from spring plus I am not a fan of harvesting until water temps are under 60. Boat operators sure enjoy when spoons are the ticket !

Grey hackle, great meeting you on Saturday. Hope you don't mind me piggy backing on your post. Also, thanks for the tip about speeding up my trolling speed, it definitely helped.
The wife and I went for our second trip this year. We went up to GHB on Thursday and set up camp and boated a couple walleyes and striper that night. Friday we headed north to the horn and hit some stripers across from the horn, up close to the wall. Then we headed to 4 mile and really got into them for the rest of the day. Went back up on Saturday and it seemed to be better if that's possible. We got into several boils, most didn't last long enough to get into them, but we did have one that we pulled 5 fish out of. This rippin rap turned out to be the hottest lure for us. We ended up boating close to a hundred fish this trip.

Looks like a heck of a trip beat the snow home to👍

I was one of the boats up by Two Mile Friday and Saturday.
Pretty slow for bass of any size until later on Saturday afternoon but striper and walleye were doing just fine. I decided pretty early on after getting up there Friday mid morning that I was going to spend my time targeting walleye and it worked out pretty well. Caught all of them casting a 10.5 Dredger in 8-16 ft.. The stripers that I caught were eating it pretty good with most being hooked on both trebles but the walleye all seemed to be short striking it with most being barley hooked on the back treble. I was not using my net and lost more than a few wallys trying to grab them at the boat. Oh well, I filleted my fair share anyway and I'll just get em next time. Good trip, tons of shad.
I'll see ya soon.

Great to hear someone is catching some walleye. I sure struggled but will get back out there and try some more. Thanks for the info.

Good seeing you on Saturday. It’s always better to BS in person. Did ok on bass north but better south on Sunday. There was a bass tournament going on that weekend, only 19 boats I heard. Also fishing was tough and 9 plus won it. (All is hearsay) I agree with Greg re temps up north, they were a little over 71 down by the rincon. We met 3 gals who had kayaked from the takeout west of Bluff on the San Juan. They were on day 8 self contained! We fixed a broken paddle by splinting it with super glue, Go-rilla tape, metal stays, and some split cedar. We checked in with them on Sunday evening when we were headed back to Bullfrog. They were still 4 miles from Halls but camping for the night. Got a picture and a report about noon on Monday. They had made it to Halls. They had switched off and on with paddles every hour since one was heavy. My wife said all three were “badass” for doing that trip. I hadn’t been to Powell since last January. The highway is really nice and smooth now. Nielson is finishing up their paving doing turnouts and exit/entrance aprons. Their batch plant was set up near the junction at north wash. The company put up the hands in Hanksville and Ticaboo. Scattered some money locally . Painting and scraping up the gobs is next according to a bored flagger. There is more road traffic then I have seen for awhile maybe cause the ferry is running? The only cattle along the highway now are just south of Hanksville and behind a fence. No Sign of cattle on the open range yet. Non-eth , 87oct. Is $3.41 at the Marerick in Green River. The port at Loma is still checking boats. I wonder if they will be manning that station in January? Headed back down when the weather breaks.

We saw a pair paddling north near Music Temple/Hidden Passage on Friday morning. Didn’t see a third person. Since this was south of the SJ, not sure if the same folks. They seemed to be doing well and not in distress so we didn’t want to slow their progress. IMG_7762.jpeg
