I took the family out for three days and somehow dodge the majority of precip. from Pricilla. Absolutely beautiful weather but the fishing was slow. Targeting bass in wahweep the first day and caught a dozen small/large mouth. Had the best luck with dark green Sinco's but the bite was very soft and slow, requiring to much of a delicate touch for the kids to have much success.
We went to gunsight for an overnight the second day. Again, the bite was slow and the kids were loosing patients, so we switched over and put on some anchovies. We caught fish for 3 straight hours, as fast as I could get them off the line and re-baited. Stripers were small and skinny, but we had a ball. Plenty of catfish as well. My daughter hooked into the biggest cat I've seen come out of Powell. About five minutes in she had to throw in the towel... it was quite the battle to get it in, even for me! The kids were pumped (as captured in one of the photos attached) and it was a fun memory.
All in all a slower fishing trip... but we will take some beautiful weather and great time with the family for the win!
